PRODUCT WARRANTY:
FABRICATION GUARANTEE
- All our gates, fences, aluminum railings are guaranteed for 20 years against any manufacturing defect or abnormal deformation. This guarantee is granted subject to absolute compliance with the conditions of use and maintenance.
- The accessories and hardware that equip our gates such as:
- hinges
- handles
- locks
- fixings
- rollers
- electric strike
- and all accessories benefit from a 2-year warranty against functional, material or manufacturing defects.
- 20 years of guarantee of powder coated and wooden sublimed Aluminium finish. The warranty covers the following defects:
- Peeling off
- blistering
- Corrosion, other than corrosion caused by bending or deformation due to impact or other interaction of external elements.
- Exclusion
- The warranty is reduced to 10 years for products installed less than 5 kilometers from seaside.
- The warranty is reduced to 5 years for products installed less than 500 meters from seaside.
- The warranty is excluded for products installed less than 50 meters from a seaside.
- Aging of the powder coating (softening, fouling, permeability, chalking, loss of shine, uniform discoloration, etc.) is a gradual and natural phenomenon, it is not a defect.
- In the long term, they are on the free surface and after wiping they are found on the cloth. This is natural depigmentation. To delay this phenomenon, it is necessary to clean your powder coated and wooden sublimed product regularly and as soon as it is installed
- All guarantees are valid for the period stated from the date of purchase and are only valid once payment has been received in full.
- Valid proof of purchase is required for all guarantee claims.
- All goods should be checked to ensure complete and sizes are correct before commencing or arranging installation.
- All goods must be installed by a competent or qualified person.
- As we use our own delivery network we can ensure the product reaches site in good condition.
- Our liability under this warranty is limited to the supply of replacement parts only.
- We do not accept responsibility for any additional work to replace the components, nor will we accept claims for consequential expenditure or loss.
- Failures must not be the result of influences outside our control, such as incorrect fitting or use, distortion of frames or building subsidence etc.
- The warranty on the replacement will extend to the end of the original component period.
- All guarantees are subject to adequate routine maintenance of the goods supplied.
Conditions of warranty for your Aluminium Product
a)
The Guarantee period expires at the end of the period detailed by each of the components following, from the original date of delivery.
b)
Proof of purchase must be retained and provided for all Guarantee claims.
c)
No Modification or alteration in any way must have been made to the product without written consent from us.
d)
All Products must be maintained as per the maintenance guidelines.
e)
This Guarantee is personal to you and is not transferable.
f)
If replacement parts or goods are required we reserve the right to replace these with parts or goods currently in production that are of the same or similar specification.
h)
The acceptance by SLAB of any claim under this warranty is conditional upon a representative of SLAB being given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the product prior to any remedial work.
i)
This warranty applies only to product installed within United Kingdom Mainland.
What is covered?
1.
Aluminium Profile.
a)
The powder coated and wooden sublimed Aluminium profile on the inner and outer frames and filling is Guaranteed from discolouration for a period of 20 years by the manufacturer from the date of delivery.
2.
Gate Motor.
a)
SOMFY Invisio Built-in Motor - 4 year warranty
SLAB offer a 4-year warranty on all somfy motors.
The equipment is expected to be installed in compliance with the fitting instructions, and is also subject to satisfactory regular maintenance by the customer.
b)
Nice Swing and Sliding Motor - 2 year warranty
SLAB offer a 2-year warranty on all NICE motors.
The equipment is expected to be installed in compliance with the fitting instructions, and is also subject to satisfactory regular maintenance by the customer.
3.
Instructions for Use
a)
Gates and fences should be used under normal conditions.
The following are considered abnormal conditions of use:
- Maneuvering the gate during windy weather
- Forcing the gate top open or close
- Slamming the gate or gate to close it (or to open it if stoppers)
- Climbing the gate or gate to pass over. Gates and gates must be operated without having to force. If it is difficult to open or close the product, you must contact your installer.

Warranty Exclusions
Following exclusions apply to all products:

Improper handling during installation
•
Normal wear and tear
Misuse
•
Improper installation including motor
•
Defects which would be the consequence of external acts like war, explosion and natural disasters
•
The intervention of a third party.
5.
Exclusion for powder coating and wooden sublimation warranty:
Following exclusions apply to powder coated and wooden sublimed Aluminium products:
•
Abnormal use, normal wear or aging.
•
Deformation of the support surface.
•
Significant thermal shocks
•
Friction from blunt objects
•
Faulty drainage system (clogging of drainage holes)
•
Damage caused by cleaning that does not comply with the maintenance instructions or by careless repair
•
Damage caused by galvanic couples resulting from the application of components made of incompatible alloys (copper, lead, zinc, etc.)
